My dog rig isn't as malleable as my drawings portray so that leaves me with a conundrum. Keep the squirrel in front of the eyes and have him pluck an eye whisker, or move him to the other side of the jowls and pluck a lip whisker. It might be pretty funny to have him near the mouth like that. Would there be too much back-and-forth looking at the squirrel and the dog's eyes constantly? I wont make anything happen with the dog's eyes until the whisker is plucked.
I'm leaning toward this composition (squirrel left). It seems more balanced into threes and it feels like the squirrel will have more room to move in that mouth-paw pocket.
